The Women of Google+
Posted by Chanda Gunter
The latest numbers are out and with Google+ operating in beta for almost 3 weeks now and reaching almost 10 million users, the big story is there are not as many women on G+ as men. Mashable.com previously reported there were only 10% women but now it is said to be about 1/3 of the users are women. An increase, yes.
What does all this mean? Guys are bigger geeks than girls.
In all seriousness, there are some amazing and powerful women on Google+ and if you are someone like me ( a social networking geek), you will be thrilled with the potential opportunity to be associated with such great women on Google+. Lynette Young, blogger, podcaster, and fellow social media geek, started the WomenofGPlus website and is promoting, inspiring, and learning from the female early adopters of G+. She encourages women to submit guest blog posts and to connect with others on G+.
I thought this was pretty smart and foward thinking. I know I have connected with some amazing, smart, like minded women on G+ and have started a WomenofGPlus circle of my own.
Thanks Lynette!
